Not only did Naomi do her time as a sweeper gracefully, she seems to have learned deep and meaningful life lessons from the experience. “I find solace in sweeping. I have no other responsibility. I have no phone. I have the time to think. Just have, you know, peace.” Does this mean that the people who work there all the time are kind of Zen masters? I´m really not sure. If anything, this goes to show that the grass really is greener on the other side, even if your side comes with millions and millions of dollars and lots and lots of fame.
Don´t go getting worried though, Naomi really probably hasn´t learned a dammed thing, as evidenced by her comment on one of the other people there. “One co-worker tells me how he ended up here, basically because of alcohol. I bond with him, and I tell him I’m in recovery. Some people can handle a drink or a line of cocaine, but I’ve finally come to realize that, for me, it’s all or nothing — and it has to be nothing. And my life has changed since.”
Yeah, some people are good with just one line of Class A drug, and others aren´t huh Naomi. You know you´re living life in the fast lane when you view coke and alcohol as being about the same thing.
