Robbie Willians and David Beckham to be gay

When all else fails, get two mostly unknown in the USA British dudes to pretend to be gay. The show Desperate Housewives has decided that its Housewives are just not desperate enough, and they´re adding in a desperate househusband. Just who will be the desperate one is still up in the air, I guess that´s the surprise huh. I´m totally on the edge of my seat here.
The creator, Mark Cherry, had this to say about the move: ´David and Robbie are perfect to star as the new neighbors´ best friends; the gorgeous, eccentric couple flown over from Blighty ( which is in Britain).We haven´t had that kind of wow for the wives since Jesse Metcalfe left and we want it to cause such a stir when they turn out to be together. David´s keen, but though the obvious choice was to work with Tom Cruise, we wanted someone who matches him in height and well, Britishness, so Robbie is the one. They´re both funny, game for a laugh and ridiculously macho, so it should work wonderfully... the English are pitch-perfect for sending themselves up.´
Is this like when a sitcom starts waning in popularity so they add some weird kid or character? Are Robbie Williams and David Beckham the ´Poochie´ of Housewife related drama? I kind of wish they had gotten Tom Cruise though, some authentic crazy would be nice.
