Madonna may actually lose custody of David Banda due to the fact that Malawian officials believe that she bribed the child welfare expert who was to go to her house to assess the adoption. A Malawian minister said: ´We have already contacted Madonna to inform her that someone else and not Kilembe will come to asses her, because we feel Mr. Kilembe personalized the whole issue.´ (Kilemba obviously being the guy who was orginally going to come and ascertain that David wasn´t being kept chained up in the basement.)
All these problems arose after rumors surfaced that Madonna had given the official money to come and visit. This transfer of funds between Madonna and the man was not approved by the Malawian government, and so now the entire adoption is theoretically at risk. ´What this means is that the whole adoption process may crumble and David could be sent back to his village.´ Said Kilembe.
This has to be the most blatant self promotion a country has done using a child pawn in a very long time. There´s no way the baby is going back, I guess they just want to make themselves known. Before this I had no idea Malawi even existed, let alone that it was a rogue state of Texas. It is a rougue state of Texas, right?
