Kiera Knightley gave an awesome interview about celebrity and the value of being a star recently, upping her hotness rating into the stratosphere. There´s nothing like a hot, talented woman who actually has a brain rattling around her skull somewhere.
Speaking about her beauty, she said: ´Somebody goes, ´Gosh, you´re pretty.´ Thanks. I´ve got good genes! OK, I´m on the cover of a magazine but somebody else does the hair, and the makeup, and airbrushes the fuck out of me – it´s not me, it´s something other people have created.´
And speaking about fame: ´It frightens me when kids go, ´I want to be famous.´ Why? Because you can get into a restaurant? You know what? If you book [a table], you can get into a restaurant! ´I want to be rich and famous.´ Go and work on the stock market.´
Now I´m not sure that the reason kids want to be famous is to go to restaurants. It might have something to do with the constant attention and god like adulation that celebrities are privileged to receive. Then again, maybe they´re just sick of sitting in the drafty spot at Denny´s.
